Clarice Cliff ORANGE TREES & HOUSE SUGAR SIFTER C.1931

Image Zoom (6)

This pattern always looks great on this shape, just works really well. This is one of about 6 known and is as good as any i have ever seen! A really superbly decorated example showing a full and repeating version of the pattern decorated to fill the whole of the body. A really good early sifter. On the base and under the glaze is a brown line of about 1", it does not catch even with a scalpel so is actually under the glaze and is something that happened during the firing. Otherwise i can GUARANTEE no damage and no restoration. Measures 5.5" in height and is fully signed to the base.
