Rare pattern on a rare shaped vase, Lucerne is one of the most sought after designs and dates to 1930, these early examples are superbly painted and is signed in hand 'applique' to the base, this particular signature belongs to John butler who was the head designer at the factory. Applique was produced using very expensive and difficult techniques and is now found in limited numbers.
