In 22 years i have only ever seen 2 of these sets and this is one of them, applique idyll on a stamford shaped tea for two or early morning set dating to 1931. A fascinating set where every piece is painted slightly differently and this is the only pattern that is like this, any sets of any kind in idyll have different images. The images on applique idyll are always different to the standard plus another interesting point about this set is the inclusion of a bird on the front of one of the cups, i have not seen this on any other piece of clarice. Bold applique Red/Black/Yellow banding really enhance this rare set. Condition - The teapot has one minor invisible repair to one corner at the base of the handle - a firing flaw - otherwise is GUARANTEED to have no restoration or damage. A truly rare and virtually unique set.
