One of the most impressive pieces of Clarice that I have bought in many years. These umbrella stands are exceptionally rare and only known from a handful of examples. This one first turned up in a Sotheby's London sale in the 1990's and has not been on the market since, until I recently bought it. A fantastic version of the rare Clovre Tulip design that works perfectly on this huge tapering shape. The stand measures 24" or 61cm in height and is 32" or 81cm around its fattest part. I can GUARANTEE that this piece is free from damage or restoration and is fully signed to the base. This is an exceptional and monumental piece of Clarice Cliff that is something that may well not turn up again.
