A really beautifully decorated and rare Applique Lugano Perth jug dating to early 1930. The earlier examples of this design had a yellow bridge and a John Butler signature to the base which this has, plus the honeyglaze and black banding was before the red black banding was introduced. This and Lucerne pieces with the same banding were the very first Applique designs. Strong colours and a full version of the pattern decorated around the body. There has been a hairline restored by the handle otherwise is in excellent condition. Measures 6" in height and is 8" wide so a large piece. Printed marks to base plus handwritten Applique mark.
