An amazing and ultra rare 16" tall shape 14 (Meiping) vase decorated in the rare Inspiration design - Knight Errant. This vase will date to 1930 and is a superb. crisp example. Chetwynd house has a frieze very similar to this design over the fireplace and i would imagine she used that for the basis of the design. The pattern has turned up maybe 6-8 times over the last 30 years and this along with an 18" charger are the two largest pieces. GUARANTEED to be free from damage or restoration, there is some dirty crazing on the base and what looks like a circular line, these are UNDER the glaze and occured during manufacture. A large and impressive statement vase. The first image is shown next to standard 5.5" conical shaker and is there for size reference.
