Clarice Cliff MAY AVENUE BONJOUR TEA FOR TWO C.1933

Clarice Cliff MAY AVENUE BONJOUR TEA FOR TWO C.1933

The holy grail of teasets!

A stunning May avenue design Bonjour tea for two that will date to 1933. What makes it even more interesting are the cups which were copied from a design in the 30's by Margarete Heymann-Lobenstein who was a German ceramic designer who designed teasets with similar handles. Clarice took inspiration from this in 1933 and i have seen examples in coral firs and Rhodanthe but never in May Avenue! Of the May avenue teasets i've seen or owned this is arguably the best one. Superbly painted in a crisp and detailed version of the pattern. Every piece is original to the set and i can GUARANTEE no damage and no restoration anywhere. Printed marks to all bases.
