Clarice Cliff POPLAR 469 SHAPE 'LINER VASE' C.1933

Clarice Cliff POPLAR 469 SHAPE 'LINER VASE' C.1933

An extremely rare and wonderful Art Deco shape vase ! These liner vases were very cleverly designed to look like the front of a cruise ship cutting through the water, the 4th image is the best angle to show that. These vases are very rare and are known from less than a dozen examples with all being in different patterns. This one is decorated in the landscape design Poplar which has been decorated to suit the shape perfectly. The vase has had a small chip invisibly restored to the top of the funnel otherwise is in excellent allover condition. A rare opportunity to acquire and sought after shape. The vase measures 8.2" in height and is fully signed to the base.
