Gordon Baldwin - A massive studio pottery sculpture entitled ''Torso''. Was produced in 1964 and measures 63cm by 53cm.
Described in the 1983 Baldwin exhibition as (quote) A concentration of evocative references, ancient pot, fragment of archaic sculpture, Torso as emblem of no feeling ( no head, no limbs, equals no thought, no speech, no action)
Condition - A couple of minor frits otherwise in superb original condition, it is signed to the body just near the base it is mounted on.
I constantly need new stock and I usually pay far more than you would achieve at auction for top end pieces as I have an extensive client list to sell to.
