A superb and large Martin Brothers Wally Bird/Tobacco jar dating to 1884. A wonderful example with a sly sideways look in his eye. This is a large example measuring 14.5" in height if you include the 1.5" base , the ceramic height is 13". The colours are very good with a hint of green in parts. There is a small chip inside the neck, 2 small flakes to the tail and slight damage to one claw. These issues are very minor and do not detract. A very early example that is fully signed inside the neck, inside the body and to the tail.
I constantly need new stock and I usually pay far more than you would achieve at auction for top end pieces as I have an extensive client list to sell to.
