A superb and quite large ginger jar from william de morgan and signed JH for james hersey, dating to around 1880-1885 this piece shows a superb lustre decoration depicting persian style flowers and has fired absolutely perfectly, as crisp a piece as you will find. It measures 9" in height and is 7" across plus carries the impressed tulip mark with DM initialled above, it also carries 3 impressed dots to the both the base and under the cover. Apart from some very light crazing to the cover and a tiny bit of wear where the lid sits on the shoulder it is in excellent condition and i can GUARANTEE to be free from damage or restoration.
