William Moorcroft CLAREMONT WALL CHARGER C.1905

Image Zoom (8)

A truly rare almost unique wall hanging charger in Claremont that will date to around 1905-1908. I vaguely remember seeing one 20 odd years ago which was nowhere near as good as this example with this being the only one i've seen since. This truly is remarkable, superbly decorated in varying toadstools radially around the shape in perfectly drawn and fired colours. It is made for wall hanging and has factory drilled holes for this purpose on the reverse inner rim. One of the best pieces of Claremont i have seen to date. I can GUARANTEE this piece to be free from restoration but there is a small shallow flake to the inner rim, nothing that detracts and you will not find another! It measures 12" in diameter, is fully signed to the back and carries retailers marks for Liberty & Co.
