An extremely rare and massive vase decorated with a Fighting Cock, signed by William and dated 1936. However these were designed by Walter who drew inspiration from a Chinese illustration. They are one of the first of Walters identifiable designs but signed by William. 6 were made and all different making this example unique and actually better fired than the one in the book. 

Beautifully drawn and perfectly fired in rich Flambe tones this vase measures a huge 12", 12" wide and has a massive circumference of 38". CONDITION - It has had a horizontal hairline restored to the centre of the body, this is done to perfection and cannot be found with your eye. A rare vase and possibly a unique opportunity to acquire a piece of this design. The small vase in the first image is 4.25" tall and is shown for size reference.
